it wasn’t a doll,
though I had plenty,
or the cars or blocks
lost in my memories
I had teddy bears
from wall to wall
even footballs
and basket balls
she wanted me
to have it all
all she never did
but mostly what I miss
are the hardcovers
and paperbacks
she’d read aloud
with me in her lap

Thank you! And I’m sure I will.
I love the picture as much as I love your poem!
Thank you for reading! 😀
This is powerful. Books teach us more about life than toys ever will. I love the lesson behind your words!
Thank you so much! The time and warmth we give will stay with our children the longest ❤️
You’re welcome dear! There is much truth in your statement. Affection and love from our parents is one of the greatest gifts of life. To this day, nothing truly compares…
